CAPE MAE SCENIC RAILROAD

This is a completely 'revamped' version of the Cape Mae from the original version made and released back in 2020. In this version, there's more to see and do!

The Cape Mae Scenic Railroad is a fictional shortline tourist railroad based on the coast of Maine in the New England region of the United States of America. The line is 5.5 miles of active mainline track and a small spur for freight operations. 

In terms of freight operations, the SAPPI paper warehouse is now no longer serviced by rail as they have switched to trucks. However, freight would not end on Cape Mae as years down the road a transflo terminal was constructed for truck-to-train and vise versa operations. Freight comes in small segments by the railroad's only outside rail connection, Pan Am Railways/CSX. The interchange as well as the track west of the Hollycoot yard has been fixed up for better access and 'easy' hand off of cars. New equipment brought the need for a 'dedicated' freight locomotive for the new re-emergence of freight service. The railroad purchased a GP38-2 from the Baboosic Brook Railroad (more on that in the future). With this re-emergence brings planned potential for freight service expansion in the future (stay tuned for that)... 

As Cape Mae's little "side gig" of freight operations changed,  the tourist side also underwent change. Over the years the railroad gained and lost equipment. Of the "gained" equipment the railroad rosters a new steam locomotive #572 which quickly gained the public image of the entire railroad. An entire reform of the railroad's 'dinner train' also brought a new image to the railroad's more luxurious side.

This is phase 1 of the route as I have plans to keep updating and expand the route in the future. When I first released this route in 2020 I didn't think that this route would gain the traction that it did and I thank everyone for that!
